Why Must season with salt?
'When will we understand that we've only one life to make things right, that we'll never again see the moments that've passed? When will we realise that we don't have to pretend to be someone that we really aren't? When will we figure out that the many selfish things we do to protect our pride actually brings more hurt to everyone in the end? When will we realise that we don't always have to be right? When will we understand that it's pointless to struggle on our own to live that perfect life? When will we ever figure out that sometimes we just can't make it on our own? When will we ever grasp the fact that God's the solution we've all been looking for, but overlooked and rejected all along?'
~By Christopher Khew~
`Abiboy': =) yup.. God is our solution to our questions.. but question here, that we have all not answered and done yet.. Then Why are we still holding onto those things? Surrender..
I totally agree with chris..(and myself) in fact we tend to forget what's there in our hands.. right at our side.. ok.. let just look at our lives and find out why..
What do we pursue in life?
-Results
-Skills
-Money
-Things we want
-Attention
-Love
-.....
Ok.. and there's still a long list of things that goes on... anyway.. typical singaporean will pursue all these things.. but typical christians do pursue all these things.. whelther you like it a not.. ITS A FACT! haha.. and this is all part of our nature..YOU CANT DENY IT! and if you look at in this way.. we people love to say, "Oh.. i want to change the world for God!" , "I want to tell the whole world about Jesus/His Love for me!" and true enough most will carry this out for a while yadadadada.... but after a while you have to agree with me that SOME will end up doing it for another reason... pursueing something else..(although we say, we are doing this for God). For the other rest... hopefully it is true that they are pursueing for the things of God from their heart. Being satisfied with God, and through that its an act of worship onto the Lord.
Ok.. back to the "half-header" why is this happening.. well.. basically our world is ever so much changing and influencing people all around the world.. its a thing we can't avoid. And that we sometimes tend to get excited and rush into things..and we miss the whole process of building our firm foundations. Its pretty common among youths and now even in adults. Well.. this is why we tend to change our sense of direction in life,
and we got to take note that we are beings that are looking for something to fill up that DEEP sense of emptyness, which we try using money, results, achievements, music and many other stuff to fill that up.. NO! it won't work! why? Let me simply put it this way, God created us with that emptyness..that only the GREATEST LOVE can fill, can mend up. And i'm sure you all know the Love is from God, Jesus...
Lets look at those rich business man... they are always pursueing for money, businesses.. never ending.. and for that until now.. and in the future, they can NEVER NEVER fill that emptyness in their heart...
And like what i replied chris.. i say to you... SO why are we still holding onto all these... and sometimes we tend to miss out the MOST important ingredient in our life, which is the salt.. God.. our salt...
Q:Why must we be season with salt in our lives..?
A:Because it is the ingredient of our lives.. God is our salt of our lives.. =)
'Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.' Colossians 4:2-6
Have you surrendered yet?

Listen SlowlyIn his book Stress Fractures, Charles Swindoll writes:I vividly remember some time back being caught in the undertow of too many commitments in too few days. It wasn't long before I was snapping at my wife and our children, choking down my food at mealtimes, and feeling irritated at those unexpected interruptions through the day. Before long, things around our home started reflecting the pattern of my hurry-up style. It was becoming unbearable.
I distinctly recall after supper one evening the words of our younger daughter, Colleen. She wanted to tell me about something important that had happened to her at school that day. She hurriedly began, "Daddy-I-wanna-tell-you-somethin'-and-I'll-tell-you-really-fast."
Suddenly realizing her frustration, I answered, "Honey, you can tell me … and you don't have to tell me really fast. Say it slowly."
I'll never forget her answer: "Then listen slowly."

The Spider WebDuring one of the many Reformation battles, a young soldier found himself and his army being soundly defeated by the enemy. He and his comrades hastily retreated from the battlefield in defeat, running away in fear of their very lives.
The enemy gave chase. The young man ran hard and fast, full of fear and desperation, and soon found himself cut off from his comrades. The soldier eventually came upon a rocky ledge containing a cave.
Knowing the enemy was close behind, and that he was exhausted from the chase, he chose to hide there. After he crawled in, he fell to his face in the darkness, desperately crying to God to save him and protect him from his enemies. He made a bargain with God. He promised that if God saved him, he would serve Him for the remainder of his days.
When he looked up from his despairing plea for help, he saw a spider beginning to weave its web at the entrance to the cave. As he watched the delicate threads being slowly drawn across the mouth of the cave, the young soldier pondered its irony. He thought,
"I asked God for protection and deliverance, and He sent me a spider instead. How can a spider save me?"
His heart was hardened, knowing the enemy would soon discover his hiding place and kill him. Soon he did hear the sound of his enemies, who were now scouring the area looking for those in hiding.
One soldier with a gun slowly walked up to the cave's entrance. As the young man crouched in the darkness, hoping to surprise the enemy in a last-minute desperate attempt to save his own life, he felt his heart pounding wildly out of control.
As the enemy cautiously moved forward to enter the cave, he came upon the spider's web, which by now was completely strung across the opening. He backed away and called out to a comrade, "There can't be anyone in here. They would have had to break this spider's web to enter the cave. Let's move on."
Years later, this young man, who made good his promise by becoming a preacher and evangelist, wrote about that ordeal.
What he observed has stood by me in times of trouble, especially during those times when everything seemed impossible:
"Where God is, a spider's web is as a stone wall. Where God is not, a stone wall is as a spider's web."
"For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things." - Luke 12:30

Rules from God1. Wake Up !!
Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24
2. Dress Up !!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7
3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3
4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything..
"Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10
5. Look Up !!...
To the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
6. Reach Up !!...
For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6
7. Lift Up !!...
Your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6
